iOS App
StormScope
An observational, hyperlocal atmospheric trends app for people who like to watch the sky change. This page is the official support and privacy destination for StormScope.
Important safety notice
StormScope is not an emergency warning system and is not a substitute for official weather alerts. It does not issue tornado warnings, sirens, watches, or emergency notifications of any kind, and it must never be used to decide whether you are safe. For watches, warnings, and emergency information, always follow the National Weather Service (NWS), NOAA Weather Radio, the Wireless Emergency Alerts on your device, and your local emergency management authorities. If conditions are threatening, act on official guidance immediately.
What it does
StormScope presents hyperlocal atmospheric observations and how they are trending near you — readings such as pressure, humidity, temperature, and wind — in a clean, readable format. It is built for weather enthusiasts, storm spotters reviewing conditions, gardeners, pilots-in-training, and anyone curious about how the atmosphere around them is behaving. Everything it shows is observational and educational.
Built privacy-first
- On-device AI. Atmospheric interpretation runs locally on your iPhone.
- No account. No sign-up, no password, no profile.
- No ads. No ad networks, no advertising identifiers, no cross-app tracking.
Features
- Hyperlocal trends. See how atmospheric conditions at your location are moving over time, not just a single snapshot.
- Barometer readings. On supported iPhone models the device barometer is read locally to track pressure changes.
- Clean readouts. Pressure, humidity, temperature, and wind presented for quick, glanceable interpretation.
- Trend history. Look back at how the day developed to understand what the sky has been doing.
- Optional notifications. If you opt in, trend notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service using an anonymous device token.
- Manual locations. Check conditions somewhere other than where you are standing.
- StormScope Pro. Optional upgrade unlocking extended history and additional detail, offered as an in-app purchase.
Location use and disclosure
StormScope requests your device's location, only with your permission, for a single purpose: to show atmospheric conditions for where you actually are. Location access is requested through the standard iOS permission prompt and can be revoked at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. If you decline, you can still use the app by entering a location manually. We do not sell location data and do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking. See our Privacy Policy for details.
StormScope Pro and billing
StormScope Pro is offered as an in-app purchase through the Apple App Store. Prices are set in the App Store and may vary by region, and purchases are charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. Where Pro is offered as an auto-renewable subscription, it renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period and can be managed or canceled in your Apple ID Account Settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Refund requests are handled directly by Apple.
